warmoth alternatives

my gutiar player recently called me up and said he wanted to do a couple projects, building a guitar and a bass, but i was just checking out warmoth and bodies go for around $200, necks go for around $200, and i stopped there, lord knows how much pick ups, electronics, a paint job, the tuners and other junk we want to put in will add up to....

the guitard of my last band put a warmoth together and it ran him over a grand.

now i know this thing is a "custom" but it would be a lot cheaper to just buy another guitar or bass that runs that much.



so, do we have any warmoth alternatives?

Try and find a bass on ebay that has some of the parts you want and then put the rest up on the bay. Rinse, repeat... until you get everything you need. If you're willing to do the legwork you will end up spending half of what it would cost you Warmoth direct.
