Warmoth Antigua P-J bass build! Ultra bright tone edition!

Hey guys!

I have a dream... of a bright toned P bass that will out growl any other bass.

So I went with. Ultra lightweight maple Antigua precision bass body,P-J with 70's position jazz pickup rout. Maple/Maple Mighty mite neck, Dimarzio Will Power Middle and Dimarzio Ultra Jazz bridge pickups. Gotoh 201 Bridge, Hipshot ultralite chromes and CTS pots.

My parts are in the UK! Though I was out when they were to be delivered, doh!

Heres the Mighty Mite neck.

With any luck, will have it together within 2 weeks! Will keep you updated!

Hey guys.

Heres the body and scratchplate! Neck doesant sit flush into the body, but sure that can be sorted out with some sanding. Or i could muck around with the scratchplate...

Yeah, pretty much resigned myself to shimming the neck!

Thanks for the kind words folks!

Arrived just today are the Dimarzios and the Hipshot Ultralites.

Just waiting on another pot cover from Warmoth (Forgot to order a third when I opted for a P-J config). A Fender Corona neck plate and screws and some dunlop straploks.

I cant wait for the bass to be done, Ultra bright toned beast through a Sansamp VT bass deluxe.

was that the one that was in Warmoth's showcase recently?
been eye-balling that for awhile.

looks good,
is the body rear routed? i dont see a control cavity.

Nope, had I known there was one in the showcase I may have gotten that.

This ones an all maple beast! Whereas the showcase one would probably have been alder.

Its a front rout, its just the scratchplate has foil over the control cavity and it was sprayed over I assume.

That should be bright and what was the weight on the body if you don't mind me asking?

Hey guys.

Just recieved this bass back.

I had our very own Mr_Foxen put her together. He did a very good job of it and in decent time too!

Basically I wanted the antigua look, but a very balls to the wall trebley sound, and its exactly what I got! It has growl in spades. Emulates the Strike Anywhere/Rise Against tone.

Shes still settling in as far as setup goes, but should be able to get down to a very low action.
