Warmoth Custom ideas?

just post cool ideas for warmoth or any other sort of custom bass that you may be making, or want to make or have made already.

I'll start it off.

Jazz bass body, MM humbucker at the bridge, Single coil Tele bass pup at the neck. left handed vintage geddy style neck, with no finish and medium frets. all hipshot xtender tuners, Rickenbacker bridge, j-retro preamp, musicman/telehybred pickgaurd with the jesus fish on it. the bass will be vintage sunburst style, except green

Im seriously thinking of purchasing a Warmoth body and a neck later this year. Its gonna be a P body but im not sure about the woods yet, maybe Swamp ash? The neck will be a J-style maple neck with black block inlays and binding. Fingerboard is also maple. For pickups i havent desided yet should it be only the P-pickup or PJ. What do you think, would this look good: Cherry burst body, black hardware, black pickguard and the blocked and binded maple neck?

nice rack [no pun intended]

LOL Thanks. That's long gone though, replaced by Aguilar gear - I don't miss it. The bass is another story :(. I was in a situation where I could keep the Rick or the Explorer and let the Explorer go...it sounded SOOOOO big and beefy with the Duncan pickups and preamp and was so comfortable to play with my style. I wish I had it back. :bawl:

I'm GASing for a shell pink Jazz bass... like Munji's pink lakland.

Never thought a pink bass could be nice, till I saw that one.

So maybe I'll order a shell pink J body and a neck with MOP inlays (don't know if maple or rosewood fingerboard...) and a pearloid PG, and I'll put on it some Antiquity II that I have, and maybe a J-retro, who knows...

Yeah, that's beautiful... :bassist:

I am dreaming of a headless bass with an original Stenberger tuning system, bubinga body, a macassar ebony neck with pau ferro fretboard, dual-action truss rod and 2 graphite stiffening rods. Have not decided on pickups yet.

Hopefully I can wrap it up this summer after a couple other projects.

I was (and still am) thinking of buying a body that hasn't yet been routed from Warmoth, and putting the guts of my Epiphone Jack Casady in there.

I'd buy any good-looking non-routed body they had available at the time, and probably send them the pickup and have them route it, but that wouldn't be cheap. If they didn't have anything I liked laying around, I might get a chambered Jazz body in 3 tone sunburst.

Then, I'd add a P-bass neck with a rosewood or ebony board.

I originally posted this idea in January 2007, but a few people told me not to gut my Jackbass.

I might also add a Jazz pup by the bridge.

What do you think of this idea?
