Warmoth Deluxe 5er necks?

I'm thinking of doing a Warmoth build, but I often hear on here that their necks are fat, does this extend to the Deluxe V's?

How do thy compare to other 5 string necks?

With 17-18mm string spacing, and a 1.75" nut, the specs sound great for me, long as they aren't fat front to back, within reason.

I think that if you do not modify the neck then you can send it back. Not sure how strict the return policy is, but I can't imagine that they would want you to keep something that you do not like.

They'll fit Fender Deluxe five strings too.

Yes, the MIM only have 20 frets, not 22 like the MIA and Warmoth.

Not sure, I'd call Warmoth if your are looking for one.

I plan on buying a Warmoth body at the same time, or I have a mahogany body blank handy, haven't really decided.

I've got a Warmoth 5 neck on a Warmoth jazz body. The neck is 1 7/8", asymetrical carve. It's very comfortable, thin but not too thin, if you know what I mean. I built the bass about a year ago and haven't had to tweak the neck in that time. Really good stuff.

I asked serein2j about the project one he had in the for sale section a little while ago, this was his response:

"It's definitely got smaller body than standard Jazz and I would say very similar size to MIA Fender Deluxe Jazz if not same or smaller. And I found that neck is more comfortable than Fender too for some reason."

I'm guessing it's the asymmetrical factor on them. I used to have a Gecko six as well and though it was a fairly substantial neck it felt much smaller due to it being asymmetrical like the Deluxe 5's are. Good luck on the build, I really want to make a couple Warmoth Deluxe 5 Jazzes!
