i got back from being on the road for a bit and I had this waiting for me- i spec'ed out a bass with the idea of doing the coveted " Geddy 5 " that I have seen so many people write about- well, I am now doing a departure from that, the quilt is nice and i don't want to cover it. So it went from a Geddy 5 to a " Tuxedo Bass " to give my beloved F Bass a break now and then....
Waiting on the pre and pickups- and bridge. Hope it sounds as good as it looks so far...

if you are really bored and like this kind of thing, I will try to keep a construction page ( more like an assembly page ) that can be viewed at:

    outstanding!

if sounds as good as it looks, you'll be one happy camper. Black or chrome hardware (please don't say gold).

    Will keep up on progress...

Nino, we're bass players, we don't read details! we go for feel! ;)
i was going to contact you on this- i originally wanted a pickguard, warmoth does not offer one, and i know you have made some that look great- i thought maybe a clear guard? but 4 now, i guess no guard- i just have to line up the holes to fit with a plate if i ever decide to put a plate and a guard on it- i have no one to do this as of yet

  11. Hey Adrian,

Nice one, that bass looks great congrats!
Are U really sure the F needs break? ;)

no, Vince. In fact, since i got the skb 44rw bass safe I am not afraid to take it on the road gigs- but every now and then , a guy gets in a jazz bass mood, ya know? And since black seems to be the choice of the working musician, i figured this would go good with anything! ;)
its a beaut- the pics don't do it justice...

  13. Oh yeah, that's really a beauty...
When are you able to send the mac in France? Along with THAT fretless! ;)
(U won't need it with that warmoth....)

    Adrian,

What is the Warmoth neck profile like for the 5 string necks? How much chunkier is it that an F Bass neck?

Ben, i am not sure the exact measurements- but it feels very nice and playable- it is not thick at all, very comfy- i am quite happy with this neck. Can't wait for the other parts to come in- U retro should be here any day, bridge.. well , whenever Hipshot sends it. And i still have to hunt down Dimarzio pups-
