Warmoth neck finish

Ok I want to get a warmoth neck. Do you think I need to get a clear gloss or satin finish? I mean it would'nt be for looks just if its would need it so it doesn't wear really fast.

warmoth will only warranty necks with a 'hard finish', as defined on their website...so unless it's a wood that doesn't require finishing, like wenge for example, you should apply a finish to the neck if you want to be covered if the neck develops a problem that can be attributed to unfinished wood, like a twist

If you are asking "Glossy" polyurethane or "Satin" polyurethane, there should be no difference in wear and durability.

most people like the feel of a satin finish on the back of the neck

I preffer satin over gloss because it gives a faster feel and a more "visceral" touch
