No neck dive on this one at all due to the smaller headstock size.

I was digging around and it seems that the only things I have are more representative of the tone of the video camera. Like this one for example. My hands were so cold I couldn't feel the strings BTW...
If I get a chance, I'll try to get some Bass->Mixer->MP3 tracks. Got a pretty old set of GHS nickels on it right now too, been searching for the strings that I like best on it.
So far:
GHS Nickels (original from when it was built, and back on it now)
GHS Tapewound (fun strings, but weird E and B tone - currently on my acoustic 5er)
Dean Markley SR2000 tapers

That is a great question. Sometimes I think I obsess too much about balance. With the ultralight tuners, brass bridge, two 9volts at the rear of the control cavity (running 18V), two hard rubber plumbing washers between the upper horn and strap button and the offset bridge strap button (Like an MTD US bass) it has perfect balance. If the body design had like a 3/8" longer upper horn or if they shifted the neck pocket further into the body by about that much it would really help (Like the Elrick New Jazz Standard but not as extreme).
Good point about the swamp ash body as well. I spent a good amount of time "watching" their in stock bodies on the Warmoth site waiting for a grain pattern I liked (if you do this there are different products listed in the main "in stock bodies" and under the "showcase" bodies under each body shape FYI) and noticed that there can be quite a swing in the weight of the same wood same shape body. I think almost a pound on the extremes. I can't remember the actual weight but it was more in the middle range, maybe just shy of 5lbs or just over.
I have never had a 5 string Jazz, but had noticed that the ones I've tried in the stores are a bit divey. I think part of the problem is the struggle between aesthetics and ergonomics. A four string jazz was designed and balanced as such whereas a 5 string adds more weight to the neck and headstock with little change to the body to compensate vs a bass that was designed as a 5 string from the beginning. I have noticed that with other basses as well where the 5 string is just a variation of the 4 string. Most of the german warwicks I've played have this.

Mark (drummer) is a pleasure to be in a band with. Has a great sense of feel, dynamics and appropriate volume. We like to do what we call "radio endings" where we just adjust our playing feel and fade out. I don't get to play with enough drummers that can (or want) to do that

One note about their 5 string necks/bodies if you are interested in 5ers - they used to just have their "deluxe" or gecko pocket types neither of which were designed to work with the fender 5 pocket but I recently saw that they have a 5 string neck that does fit one of the fender 5 pockets.
Maybe as long as the body and the neck from the two different companies are both designed to the fender spec you are in good shape.
Yes I did use a Carvin neck (model N420) on my Warmoth. Carvin says it is a direct replacement for a Fender bass neck, but it didn't fit perfectly in the Warmoth neck pocket. There was a small gap between the end of the neck and the end of the pocket. I don't have any pictures of it but my luthier had to route the pocket a little more for a better fit. He said it wasn't a big deal to adjust the pocket to make it fit. I would use a Carvin on a Warmoth again, but now I know going in that its going to need a little work for it to fit. The Carvin did fit the pocket on a couple of bodies I have with Fender sized neck pockets.
I haven't posted pics of this yet, but here are a few pics of my Warmoth Build. If anyone is interested, I'll post info and specs.
