Warning: do not order single Thomastik-Infeld strings from Amazon Global Store UK on Amazon

[VERIFIED PURCHASE]
Terrible intonation on my fretless and muffled tone.

Update: Amazon's going to refund me and I don't have to send the stupid $7 tanning mitt back to the freaking UK. The catch? Because I started a return I have to wait two weeks before they can process the refund and I have to be the one to contact them about it. All seems dumb as hell to me, but whatever. Lesson learned.

Man that is odd, i do not even know what a tanning mit is  lol. I have been ordering strings from musicians$friend on ebay. They refund your money on bad string sets (which are common now, more and more) and you don't even have to send them back either.

Amazon sucks when they give you a credit. I got one for that Joyo instrument mixer and could not transfer it to my bank. I was not real happy, but whatever.

So a bout a month ago I managed to find a seller on Amazon selling single TIJF strings. So I ordered one, waited, and today received...a tanning mitt. I'm chatting with Amazon now, but it definitely feels like I've been scammed. Just don't want anyone else to fall into the same trap.
The mitt will be an improvement IMO. Those are the only strings Ive ever removed immediately. Every string sounded like it came from a different manufacturer. Don’t understand the love for the things.

Check the classifieds here for used sets and singles from time to time. :)
I have a whole set of tanning mitts available. Guaranteed to be brand new, too.

FWIW, I've successfully ordered TI strings (full sets) from Amazon Global Store UK, and I've successfully ordered TI singles from Amazon (but not AGS-UK, as I recall). But yeah, getting a tanning mitt instead would be kind of discouraging. If they were going to give you something in the glove family, you'd hope they would at least make it music-related, like music practice gloves or something. :-)

Ended up getting a replacement A string from JustStrings. Couldn't find them on there when I did a search, but I e-mailed Craig from Connolly Music asking if he knew anywhere to order singles, and he sent me a link to JustStrings, and I guess they do sell them. So I'll soon have a complete set of TI's.

Rule of thumb: on Amazon, if it doesn't say SOLD BY and SHIPS FROM Amazon, I proceed with caution. If it's Sold By: XXXX but 'Fulfilled by Amazon', your odds improve greatly. The main thing is having recourse when/if there is a problem. If Amazon is responsible from warehouse to your house, your odds of getting it made right are easier.
