Warped neck

i tried to trade in my active p-bass for a strat at GC and they told me the neck is badly warped. now that i check, it does look really bent. they told me to take it to a luthier down in santa monica or something to get it fixed. i checked with another luthier and he told me it'd cost $25-$35 to get it fixed if it just needs a minor adjustment but $50-$100 if it needs to be pressed. should i spend that much or just sell it on ebay and tell them the neck is warped? or should i fix it myself?
