Warrior vs Elrick

Both are great basses. I know that both are Bartolini equipped and have really nice B strings. However, no one can answer that for you. Each have their strengths and good points. Which ever points you find more important about a certain bass, if either bass has it, then I'd say that bass is the one for you.

I post this questions, because is good to read personal opinion on each type of bass. I know is up to each personal preference. I read these recommendations and also I learn about possible issues that each bass have. This not only help me decide on a bass but in general knowledge about basses.

I've played both and I like Elrick more. I like the feel of a handmade bass and I think
their sound is a more sharp and defined. They are really comfortable and easy to play as
well. Each company has their trademarks so it doesn't matter which model you pick to
A vs. B. I've played many basses from both companies and I feel that Elrick's trademarks
out weigh Warwick's. If I had to choose I would buy an Elrick.

That's my opinion and I think that's what otto B was looking for, our personal opinions on
these two basses not some BS about personal preference and blah blah blah... He didn't
start this thread to get peoples opinions about his question. He wants our opinions on these
basses.

My personal preference is for Elricks. That has nothing to do with which is "better" for him or for anyone else besides me. It's like asking "which tastes better- apples or oranges?"

Also, there are different models of each bass and each model has different features which may trump one over the other. However IME, I've had better experiences with Warriors but the Warrior I played was a $3500 6 string bass and the Elrick was just under $3000 and only a 5 string. I liked the neck of the Warrior better, which is probably the biggest thing that I base my opinion on. Both had great tone, although the Elrick seemed to be a bit more aggressive.

He asks about warrior, not warwick...

As for myself, I'd go with warrior. I just think Elrick's are way too soft sounding for me. They are GREAT basses, but not my thing simply. Warrior got that nice mid grind I love.

I got a chance to play an Elrick last Saturday at Bass Emporium, and I did like it. One thing that I found good is that It's cheaper than a warrior and it looks better build than a warrior bass, don't get me wrong I also like the warrior Bass I own a 2004 Warrior signature, but it seems that the Elricks got zero defects in the wood vs. the Warrior got some flaws in the finish of the wood. I am still thinking what is going to be my next bass out of them two. My other question is how much difference is the tone with the different wood other than ash on a Elrick Bass. what wood combination you all recommend?

That is a killer bass. I spent some time playing that one as well, and just like every other Elrick I've played, it's instantly apparent that Rob puts a lot of love into his instruments. I'd take an Elrick over any Warrior I've played to date, but I don't know why you'd ever let go of that Roscoe. Hell, I would have found a way to snag it already if it was a 35".

There is, in fact, one "best" bass in the whole world.
It is best for every player, and for every style of music.
If you buy that bass, no matter your experience or how much you practice, you will immediately sound incredible, play better than the best, and get supermodels in lingerie knocking at your door at all hours of the night to spend time with you.

There is also one note, that, played harmoniously by all members of a band, will cause all the audience members at a performance to dance their way to the stage and empty their wallets at the feet of the bass player.

I have a custom Elrick 5 string neck thru with 36" scale & a phenolic fingerboard. It is my main bass & has been on numerous recordings. It always sounds great through any rig & is solid as a rock. I value it very highly. I played a Warrior 5 string bass at the NAMM show. It is also a very fine instrument. If I could buy another bass of that value I confess I'd buy another Elrick.
