Warwick 5 string Double Buck for a 2000 USA Fender Jazz

I've been offered a trade locally for my Warwick Double Buck. The Jazz is a 4 string but I wouldn't mind having a 4 string again as I also have a 5 string Warwick Thumb. But I'm really torn over this, I've had serious GAS for a Fender but I don't know if I'd miss the Double Buck too much anyone have comparisons with the 2?

At first I thought you were going to pay 2000 for a doublebuck. The jazz is similar to the thumb. I'd keep the double buck and the thumb. Save up for a usa jazz, you can get them cheap.

If you like the Warwick stay with that for now and save up for a Jazz.

I don't play the $$ often anymore since I got my Thumb bass a year ago though, that's the main reason I'm thinking of letting it go.

Rather than making a trade, sell the $$ and then buy a used fender jazz and you'll still have money to spare.... I think

When I'm playing a four string, I'm playing my fender jazz. I bought a fender 5 string jazz soon after getting the 4 and never got completely comfortable with it. Then, the day I brought home my Warwick 5, my fender 5 went into the case and hasn't been out but once since. For the last three years I have tested a lot of 4 string basses and still haven't played another 4 string that I would prefer over my jazz bass.

I agree with selling the $$ and buying a jazz bass, new or used, that you are able to play before you buy to make sure it feels right. They are different beasts, I've played several Warwick basses and not one has felt like a j bass. It really depends on your comfort level with the instrument and then what you intend to do with it. For instance, I keep TI flats on my 4 string jazz bass and DR MM rounds on my Warwick 5 and rarely interchange them on different projects unless out of necessity.

IMO it'd be like trading an Audi for a Ford. Keep the $$.
