Will this work? i know its a stretch, and i dont want to have any thing changed on it. if it will work, where do i find strings that work on it? i want a fairly bright tone with the strings.

Warwick 6er tuned EADGBE?

i want to be a guitarist on bass. that would make it easier to learn music. just get a guitar tab and boom. instant music in some cases.
What's wrong with getting a bass tab and playing instant music? Or, if you want to play guitar parts...why not play a guitar if that's what you're used to?

i would mainly be doing stuff that is like 'Joy To The World.' most of those songs i cannot find a bass tab on, so, i either play the part adapted to bass, or, i dont learn it.

I've always wanted to try something like this. Guitar is my first instrument -- and I'm not half bad on it.
I did try a 7 string bass once (tuned BEADGCF) then I detuned the skinny two down a half step. It was fun, but bizzare for sure. The neck was so huge I couldn't really do what I wanted. Depending on the neck width, you'd have a cool bass plus piccolo/tenor guitar thang.
Naturally, you could get a set of 7 string bass strings and keep the low B for reserve.

the whole reason i want it is because i dont plan on using Low B or High C, with this, there is a good chance i will use all of the strings.
I'm with you moog.
When I get a 6'er I plan on having it strung EADGBE. That way, if I need to, I can cover guitar parts easier.

Yes it can. It is my understanding,however, that to get the best clarity you need to use 105-25 gauge (custom set-regular 4 string set with a single 28 and 25)which is sure to give you a fairly bright tone. Not to mention that you'll probably have tweak the truss rod. Recently bought a bass set up for that tuning. Interestingly different.
I get what you're saying about the bass tuned like a guitar. I stopped playing guitar, because the it became too uncomfortable for me to play. It felt like a toy. You would probably be better off with BEADGC or EADGCF, because the B right before the highest E on a guitar isn't tuned in 4ths like the rest of the instrument. To me, it makes no sense. When I did play guitar, I almost skipped that string.
