Warwick bass strings

I was visiting musician's friend a few years ago and I noticed that warwick had their own brand a bass strings called the warwick black label series. and since these strings are still available at musician's friends(and probably other online music stores as well), I was wondering has anyone ever tried these strings? If so, how do they sound?

No good...to all 3 ...black label yellow label or red. Tried them all on a Warwick bass nonetheless

The Black Label used to come on all of the German made 'wicks (might be their EMP series now), and the Red Label come on their Pro Series (Korean) 'wicks.

I liked the Black Labels for a while. They were very bright with a lot of snap, thanks in part to the exposed/contact core.

The Red Labels are a stainless string, that does exactly what you'd expect a stainless set would do.

Thanks for the recommendation, mmbongo. I wasn't really planning on buying these strings for my bass guitars. I was just asking this out of curiosity. besides, if I wanted stainless steel strings, I would go with dunlop stainless steels or maybe dr high beams.

I found them (black labels) to sound really good and last really long. They are however expensive and harsh on the fingers. I use Pro-Steels now as they sound pretty much the same to my ear, last *almost* as long and are cheaper.

We do get Warwick bass strings. But the demand has pretty much been 0 and we like our inventory fresh, so if they are going to sit, not going to stock... They are available by request.

I've came across this clip a couple of months ago. this guy was using warwick bass strings on his Ibanez and it sounded pretty cool. I understand that there are some mixed opinions on these strings, but based on this clip, it doesn't sound too bad. here's the clip.

I got a set of Black Label strings free with my Warwick bass when I bought it new. After several years of having them take up space in my desk drawer, I put those strings on my Ric bass. I wasn't just pleased at how they felt and sounded but also blown away by how well they held up.

A couple of months ago, I put some Roto-Sounds back on the Ric and immediately started missing the Warwicks. Not only are the Warwick strings good, they're really good
