Warwick BC-80

Hello guys, I decided to buy a BC-80 for home and small concert usage. I watched videos and i liked this amp. What do you think? Has anyone used this amp before? Thanks for comments.

I've tried out the BC-80, but I own a BC-10. Similar tone as the 80, but in a smaller package. I use it for small cafes, wine bars, and outdoor beer-gardens. I can dial in some great tones and I love that I can pump the volume distortion free.

I think Warwick amps are highly underrated, but I'd recommend one to anyone considering them.

I've bought a warwick BC-80 for my little apartment, and I have to say I love it.
I haven't tried it out on live gigs, but I look forward to it because it can really provide you with a nice punch.
I was curious how it sounds with a guitar and I have to say it doesn't work well together...
What really got me angry is the fact that the "Power LED" burst only after a couple of uses.
Other than that, it works quite nicely.

Now, I am so confused to buy BC-80 or BC-40. BC-80 has 4 band equalizer but BC-40 has 3 band and it looks like BC-80 has compressor but BC-40 not.

Is it worth €70?

What do you plan to do with it exactly?
If you are going to jam at home, then just buy the BC-40,
If you need it for small gigs, the BC-40 should do just fine, and if you need it for a mix it will also work quite fine
If you want it for bigger gigs (about 200 people or so) then you definitely need something with more wattage.
Tell me your exact intentions so I can advise you a bit better on the whole.

Actually I specified my purpose on my first message. I need this amp for small gigs and using at home and I want to use it for a long time.
Is there any sound/tone difference between BC-80 and BC-40?
How long have you been using this amp?

I've created a point-based system for you to try out

Answer me these questions:
- Do you have a proper vehicle to transport the BC-80? (no = one point for BC-40)
- Do you have enough upper body strength to carry your BC-80 from one place to another? (no = one point for BC-40)
- Do you live in an apartment with thin walls and/or sensitive neighbors/roommates/girlfriend/children? (yes = one point for BC-40)
- A small gig in my opinion is about 20-30 people. Is that what you mean with small gig? (yes = one point for BC-40)
- How often do you play live? To how many people do averagely you play? (Not so often = one point for BC-40. Around 20 people = one point for BC-40)
- How important is it to you to have a highly variable EQ? Do you really mess around with your tone that often? (no = one point for BC-40)
- Do you and your band plug into a mixer? (yes = one point for BC-40)

There is going to be a volume difference and you will lose the ability to mess around with your high/low mids, but you have to consider what is:
- The honestly right decision for yourself
- The most cost-effective decision for yourself
- The decision that is not only right for you but also everyone else (Roommates/girlfriend/children/family/band-mates).
You're going to have to decide: is tone more important? Is transport-efficiency more important? Is saving money more important?
You can buy the BC-80 and love it, but if you can't get the full potential from it, then just go for the BC-40 for now.
If you get better, and you want to expand, then get a BC-80
