Warwick Corvette $$ Neck Technique

Now that the honeymoon of new Warwick ownership is over and only the work remains, I would really appreciate any thoughts that folks may have on how to preserve wrist, palms, fingers, tendons with the fairly chunky Warwick neck.

It seems that I have certain practice sessions that leave me stiff and sore afterwards (mainly wrist and palm) and others that don't and I don't know what causes the difference.

My hands are not large but they are also not small...I wear medium gloves as a matter of fact...sometimes large.

My old Dean acoustic fretless is a 4 string vice this 5-er but the neck widths are not hugely different.

Makes me think I'm doing something wrong ergonomically.

Buy a bass that is more comfortable to play. You wouldn't buy shoes that are too big for your feet, would ya?

Agree, if it's breaking your arms, get rid of it.

Next time, make sure it has good balance so it's easy to keep your wrist straight when fretting it and that it has a comfortable size of neck in width and depth.

I've tried a few warwicks myself and while I loved the quality and sound, they're just too freaking baseball bat-like for my hands....
