Warwick Custom shop thumb - types of ebony

so i have put an order in for a CS thumb NT and i was wondering about the Ebony that they use. while i think jet black ebony looks fantastic, i wonder if they have any of the black/white or "pale moon" ebony as its known. i think it would match really well with a black walnut burl top

I know its considered less desirable than proper black ebony, but i dont mind it. i think its looks pretty cool

I think the Jet black ebony as 'most desired' use to be the old way of thinking. Obviously it is entirely personal preference but I really like the figured ebony with the streaks like you show above, or the sap wood type ebony. Long story short; congratulations on your custom order. I have a 2008 Warwick custom with zebrano body and ebony fretboard and I love it!

More importantly, what are your specs for the bass? I would love to see pics when you get it in your hot hands.

Black walnut burl top. 1 inch thick
swamp ash body
Wenge and Purpleheart
hopefully, the pale moon ebony fret board
black hardware
wooden tuners (ebony)

everything else is built to spec of my standard thumb NT 5. i like the way it feels so makes sense the have the same radius and what not. should be getting a couple of photos of the walnut pieces soon. will keep you updated.
