warwick quality?

Warwick ProFet heads have a very good watt per dollar ratio, and I haven't heard of any quality problems, but the sound isn't much (somewhat OK fur funk or so, but totally gets lost in the mix for rock). I use one as a poweramp (i.e. I skip the preamp by the sending the signal from BassDriver DI straight into Effects Loop).

I hear the higher models have a better sound though, not played one myself.

The cabs are very good for the price in my opinion and several players I know use them, but you should trythe sound out by yourself. They have proved to be durable cabs.

I used to run a profet 3.2 head with a pro series 2x10 and 4x10.

They are nice sounding amps warm and clean never tried the more expensive ones but I imagine they are quite nice.

At one point I used the rig with an Ampeg SVP Pro preamp and could get a very convincing SVT at a fraction of the price.

I never had any problems with reliability I even let it be used it all day at a festival for all the bands ran pretty much flat out for about 10 hours and never missed a beat.

The only thing I found was that they are quite quiet.
The profet 3.2 is rated at 300w @ 4 ohms but it was significantly quieter than my old Trace Elliot which is also rated at 300w

I would say they over inflate the power ratings (just my opinion) I even A/B'd mine with another new one at my local store incase it was a problem with the one I had but they were both the same.

It doesn't change my opinion that they are good amps, I'd just be aware if I bought another one that they are not as loud as I originally anticipated compared with others.

Had the same problem just a few weeks ago with the same model of head and 4x10. Not the loudest amps around but they are versitile. Fairly easy to get a good tone.

The reason that some people feel the Profet series isnt very loud is because of the gain pot.It had useable power all the way through whereas other amps gain doesnt increase above about 2/3rds.This has been rectified to be in keeping with other amps in the Profet 5.2 & 3.3 that also include improved compression.
