Damn, i know i'm preaching to the choir but my new Corvette Taranis is simply the most well thought out peice of wood and wire i have ever owned ....i have 3 acoustic guitars - martin, guild, yamaha, 9 electric les pauls, teles and strats .....this 4 string takes the cake ...

long i have wondered why i can't have a bridge that combines the simplicity of adjustment of the les paul and the versatily of the fender bridge with every string adjustable.....i look down and my corvette has both ...dual pole pieces for quick action adjustment as well as individual saddle adjustment....and the truss rod cover ...better than any brand strap locks included, best gig bag i have owned yet .......tone ...craftsmanship

2nd to none ....so pleased! holy crap!

oh and how can i forget ....adjust a nut .....brilliant!

I am big Warwick fan, so yeah you are preaching to the choir but that's OK!!!! Good to hera you love your Taranis...got pix? You on the Warwick forum?? I'm Lady Warwick there.

I just have a corvette standard, but damn that little guy is easy to play...got me hooked on these, I'm saving, slowly, for a 2010 ltd vette...just the looks of it I feel in love never seen one in person...hopefully I'll be able to find one when I got the $$.

omg that thing is gorgeous...you keep it low tuned ??

When I had to look for another bass cos the starter crap I bought was just that, crap....I tried out stuff, but I found my vette in the used section and just quietly took it to an amp, plugged in, hit 3 strings and said it's mine. I was a very green rookie so i couldn't play yet...but everything about it was right. Im not great and crappy at memorising stuff but I'm having fun with it...I'll never part with it. So...I am a little biased about 'wicks...lol hope to see ya on the wick forums!

no ....my purchase was contingent on stringing it normal 4 string ...it needs no modification ...the B E A D is just smart marketing on warwick's part.....the nut fits either string set fine! to be honest.....i couldn't dig the low string set at all ...although i do play a soundgear 5 string ...it was just way weird on 4 strings ....

Nothing comes close to the sound, feel, and features of a real German made Warwick. Nothing! I can't say they surpass everybody in quality and playability because there are lots of high quality builders out there, but Warwick is in the upper crust for sure.

I've owned some basses from some very well-respected upper-tier luthiers, and my SSII and old Thumb NT5 was right in there with them, if not better in some cases. My old Corvettes were not quite as nice in the fit and finish department, but they were still phenomenal at their price-point... love me a good 'Wick :)

I have owned primarily Fender, Gibson, Alembic and Warwick basses and my 2001 Warwick Thumb is the best of the lot. The neck/action settings are stable and never touched, the power and tone is on its own and and cut through the mix and growl is incomparible, meaning that I have never heard better or more prominent in the mix.

If you play, a Warwick will "showcase" your work.

my corvette $$ has me so spoiled right now...zero dead spots, perfect tone for nearly any situation, perfect fret work, adjustability that makes perfect action easily achievable, nice sized neck, good balance, a bridge you never have to think about, on and on and on. just a wonderful instrument, and i bought it for $1100 brand new! that's tough to beat IMO. all i had to do was replace the stock tuners (junk for some reason) with gotohs.

We have 3 bassists at our church. I play mostly warwicks and when they look at my basses they all think it weighs a ton and has a baseball neck.
Well the ton is kinda true since they play soundgear basses a mim jazz. When I let them play all my array of different wicks they get amazed

that's funny cause my other bass is an SR505 ...the Corvette neck is a shock to the system at first....i've gone to extremes over the years with guitars - thinned (sanded) several necks including les pauls ... i have pretty small hands

i've recently realized that for me the playability of a thin neck is more in the mind then the actual hands ...as i have guitars with varying neck thickness i began to realize that i didn't play the thin ones any better or more easily than the thicker necks ....in fact ..some licks, phrases feel better on a thicker neck...

everything feels better on the wick compared to the soundgear LOL....

the thing is ...as you go up the warwick neck ...it's not as thick as it looks because of the contour and flattening of the neck ...it's really quite comfortable as you climb the neck
