Warwick questions

Hiya,

I'm considering sometime (in the not too distant future) upgrading my amplification (at the moment I have a beginner 1 x 15 combo). I'm thinking towards Warwick (purely from a cost point of view, ideally I'd like Euphonic Audio).

I'm looking at a TubePath 10.1, into 2 x (4 x 10) cabs, either 410 Pro or 411 NeoPro.

A few things:
Would the power from the head be too much for one of the cabs to handle if I could only use 1 at a time - ie. would it be better to just get the TubePath 5.1?

What are the advantages of the 'Neodynium Speakers' over the standard?

I've never used a tube amp - is there enough benefits to justify the cost, I mean would buying the Warwick X-treme heads (Solid state) be considered a 'pro' standard rig?


Any other opinions on Warwick amps would be much appreciated, cheers.

The tubepath isn't a tube amp, just a tube pre (I think anyway). The 10.1 will be fine with one cab.

Personally I think the Extreme is a nifty amp for the price, with a descent sound.

If you're spending that much money, I'd save a bit more and get what you ideally want, one piece at a time.

I'd also caution against a dual 4x10" rig in the UK - they're just too damn big for most cars, are awful to get up staircases and through doorways, and you rarely need more than a single 4x10" or 2x12", unless your guitarists are cretins!
