Got a german star bass, haven't played the china version for comparison but I have to say this is a really easy bass to play and the construction is top shelf , really nice neck

zero hum, strong and punchy, leaning a bit to the bright side.
The one bass I'd consider replacing my precision with ... and more specifically the Lee Sklar signature one that's out recently.

and the "producer switch"
It does seem a bit expensive, true.
I put a producer switch on my precision and it only cost me 7 euro!
I love the "producer switch"! Very similar to the "turn down" where you just turn down your tone knob (and then secretly back to where it was). The switch is even easier ha ha.
just got my Warwick Rockstar star bass I played the German and the China built basses , They sounded alike and felt alike but the China version seemed liter, I really liked both, but for the money I took the China Rockbass
I don't think the German pro series is assembled in China. They say part of the work is done by "a partner in the region" meaning still in Germany, just not at the Warwick factory

No neck dive while still relatively lightweight. It's not a real hollowbody, it's a semi-hollowbody.
The korean build pro Series basses - the 4 string - has a 34" neck while the chinese made Rockbass has a 32" neck. Makes a difference because due to the construction of the basses a 34" "feels" longer than on a traditional Fender.
Look where the bridge starts at a Fender and then have a look at the Starbass!
You´re right! When I wrote that, Warwick decided to stop the Korean Pro series. For a short time the GPS-Basses were crafted in Germany and assembled in China. Then WW changed the production-path.
I've had one for about a year now. It's a very good bass. Well built, fast neck, love the ergonomic tuners and wonder why this hasn't been made the standard for tuners. Sounds warm and round . And in Daphne Blue, it's pretty as anything, a REALLY good bass for most people.
There is a downside, and it comes with the body. As most basses are contoured (read: gently sloped and "thinned" at the back of the body for us fat people....lol), this one, like most hollowbody basses, is not.
Therefore, I'm selling mine, simply because I can't play it comfortably.
I'd say try one out and see for yourself. And stand up when you do that, to see if it fits your playing style.
They're a very good instrument, they really are, they're just not for me.

Question, I’ve not played hollow bodies before, and noticed some neck dive when played with a cheap nylon strap. Is this something that can be improved with a decent leather strap, etc. or just something one gets used to?
