Warwick Star Bass, who has one/played one?

I've tried the Star Bass 4, and thought it was really well constructed( probably more durable than many of the 60's semi hollowbody basses it draws influence from), and sounds very 'woody' and 'organic'. The playability is great too, and would fit into a wide variety of musical situations. The only drawbacks I feel are the price,(in Canada they are $2500-$3000, which seems a bit much too me as you could probably find a vintage Gibson EB-2 for less than that, which would also hold its value better), and the drawback for me is the Warwick headstock, which looks kind of out of place IMHO:hmm:.
Id say if you are looking for a traditional hollowbody vibe with modern playability, arent bothered by the Wick headstock, and dont mind losing some value if you resell the bass, the Star Bass is worth pursuing for sure!:D

Just played the star bass pro(made in Korea) at NAMM. Love it! Visually is the coolist bass I've ever seen. Awesome craftsmanship. Korea usually sends people running but they assure quality control at Warwick there. Sonically, very warm woody organic tone yet modern feel. The pickups are awesome, same as German model. I'm getting the Daphne blue one. Street runs about 1600.

played the super expensive wood finish one at NAMM, and I was floored! had me twinging on the floor with GAS. unfortunately the price tag will keep us apart for any forseeable amount of time. my favorite bass of the show, hands down.

I haven't played the German built Star bass II, just the Korean made Star bass. No fancy woods, just basic, but with the same pickups. That bass sounded very good, felt very good and was not that heavy. It isn't too expensive, even my girlfriend could accept letting one in the house. That's not the fact with the expensive brother... :smug::smug::smug:
