Double Bass Warwick Triumph for $130?

What you've got is very interesting! This is a Framus Triumph from 1977 or 1978, made during a transitional period after the bankruptcy of the company. It appears to be all original, and although its not one of the oldest Triumph models...it is somewhat rare. In 1982 the retail price was 1690 DM! Very cool!

That's a big help, thanks :) But if I'm correct and my eyes don't deceive me, it says "Warwick" on the head. Does that make a difference?

Nope. Not worth $130. It's worth nothing. Really. Just pass on the seller's information to me and I'll use it to paddle my canoe.

In fact, I've got a set of shelves that would match the two in the photo. Send me the seller's info and I'll ship the shelf-unit over for free... ;)

Well, Worth it, IMHO, even if the neck were a bit twisted (I'm not saying it is, just that I'd buy it for that price even if it wasn't functional).

@DoubleMidi: Looks like it's missing the 5th, not broken, as the way the strings are attached – A & D strings both from the middle hole...

I've always wanted a Framus Triumph, Hernnsdorfer or Guyatone sharkfin ... love the early EUBs.

PS, maybe it's a Framus with a Warwick neck? The pup and hardware say Framus to me...

I sent the picture to the curator at the Framus Museum in Markneukirchen, Germany...and the info I provided was directly from him. It was made after Framus closed, and into the transitional period. I've sent him another inquiry and will get back to you soon! Nice find!

Wow, thanks for the energy you're putting into this! Looking closely it sure does look like it's a 5-string, also 'cause the pickup has 5 poles :) I hope the strings are playable, a set of Triumph strings (5 with low B) will cost me €150...

My pleasure! This is exactly what I'm here for...whether its Framus or Warwick, vintage or made yesterday...our goal is to have Warwick/Framus be more accessible to those of us who frequent the forums, FB, etc.

And with what you've saved on the bass, the strings will be worth it! Enjoy!

Thanks a lot! So from what year is it, probably?

I was also wondering: on the new Triumphs there's a wooden "belly support" (what is that thing called), and on mine it's made of steel. I'd love to use the wooden one but I don't know if they fit on mine and if I can order one from Warwick (and what it would cost)...?
