...and pickup design, and micro-tilt neck design, and bridge design- and boat design Everything he took an interest in he mulled over and found ways to improve upon.
He was the consumate inventor and his genius extended beyond musical instruments/manufacturing. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't play. Imagine that.. the instruments he invented he couldn't even play. That really ratchets up the genius level in my book.

Leo was quite the inventor I have to say. God-like praise no but praise none-the-less.

I have never read anything even remotely official about a lawsuit or threat of one by CBS on Leo in the 80s. Anyone? Im calling it a rumor for now. CBS was looking to dump Fender at the time anyway.

Praise, yes! He deserves it! God-like worship as if he and his designs are infallible is where I get a bit lost. But it's no biggie.

Also, I think the micro-tilt neck was one of George's innovations, not Leo's, along with several other things in pickup and bridge design. After the first few years, Leo had LOTS of people helping him with ideas and design, which is another reason why I don't think he deserves to be looked at as a deity.
