I've had 2 of them, never had any problems with either of them. They have a great neck, very comfortable. They stay in tune very well. They're well balanced, with no neck diving.
Things I didn't like about this bass: a separate battery compartment would have made more sense. The humbucker pickup was sometimes blah sounding to me. I would have liked to try the newer model, the RB2002, which added a J pickup.
I gave one of these basses to my brother. I played it recently, and it still sounds good and plays well. Note: they sound great with new strings, horrible with old..but I guess the same could be said for most basses.
I also had the RB2500, which is the 5 string model. I didn't care for this bass as I thought it was too bright..I believe this could be contributed to the maple body.
These basses can be purchased for next to nothing. So, don't invest much into it. I bought all of mine from ebay, one for $165..and it came brand new! The most I paid was $250, for the 5 string, and that came with a real nice flight case.
