I haven't posted here for a while, but I'm so happy that I have to post about this little tool called Lilbro build by WatoneFX in Indonesia. Please note that I'm not affiliated in any way with the builder, just a fellow countryman and happy customer.
Basically, what this tool does is sending MIDI patch change message to any Zoom MS fx type which allow direct access to enable/disable 8 predefined patches on the fly & at any order (as opposed to Zoom MS's 1 footwitch cycle patch change method). This significantly multiplies the usability of the unit as it is now much easier to control. I use it to control Zoom MS CDR.
It has 1 A/B bank switch and 4 patch button, with that arrangement it has A1 - A4 and B1 - B4 virtual buttons. Each virtual button is assigned to a predefined patch number coded by the builder. What we need to do is just set the predefined patches on the fx unit, connect the controller to the fx unit with USB, wait about 15 second for the units to know each other, that's all.
The controller also provides power to the fx unit, so no need to run 2 separate cables to power both units. The enclose is powdercoated 125B sized die cast, about the size of a Boss pedal and powered by 9v min 500ma fx supply.
There are some other products which does the same, but I found this one is the most cost effective and practically fool proof (I know nothing about MIDI). It also professionally made. I got it used for about 50US$, I've no idea how much the new one would cost.
