wats the difference

While I'm neither Steve Lawson nor Michael Manring(& play neither on TV)I'll try to help here. Typically, a P is wider, athough AFAIK there are 3 widths(1 1/2', 1 5/8" & 1 3/4"). J's are usually around 1 1/2". I also believe this question would get more attention in the right section(basses). :)
