greetings, my name is scrapiron. I'm looking for an answer concerning wattage in speakers. Setup, I'm rebuilding an old 100 watt Kustom studio series combo amp. I'm looking at a pair of vintage electro voice speakers to load this with. they are rated at 8 ohms and 50 watts. question: do the watts share the same math as the impedance? in other words, in series do they add up to 100 watts and in parallel do they go down to 25 watts as they would when wiring for 2, 4, 8 or 16 ohm impedance? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I just would like to know if I should buy them or go to a higher watt pair. thank you for your insight.
