It depends on whether the outs are in series or parallel.

What amp? What's it say on the back panel by the speaker jacks, or in the owners' manual?
It probably says something like "400 WRMS @ 4Ω, 230 WRMS @ 8Ω". And since most amps have the speaker jacks wired in parallel instead of series, two 8Ω boxes come to a total load of 4Ω so that's what you need to find out about your amp. GENERALLY, the power rating at 4Ω is a bit over half of the rating at 8Ω for solid-state power amps.
With a tube amp, it's a crapshoot because it depends on how the jacks are wired to the output transformer.

The way I read the op, I think he's contemplating 2 lines from the head into ONE cab. DON'T DO THAT!!!! you will kill the amp.
We can't say exactly if you'll get 500 W, but it should be close to that. The amp itself should say on the back right by the speaker jacks, as JTE said.

This is true...I didn't get that from the OP, but it could be what he's intending. And yes, it would kill and amp dead, but I'll stop short of saying "don't do that" as long as you take video and post it here once you've tried.
As a rule you NEVER plug two amps into one mono speaker.
However if his amp has two output jacks truely wired in parallel (like most are) and if the cabinet has both jacks truely wired in parallel (like most are) then connecting both would have no effect.
However on that off chance that they're not I wouldn't recommend it.
