Watts vs Sound Level

10x Ouch! I would need a 1200W rig ! I don't wanna think about bringing that up and down the stairs by myself :p

Lots of pros and amateur talkbassers gig with over 1,000w (1,200w is twice as loud as 120w, really not that outrageous at all). At that point you're probably looking at a separate preamp and power amp, the latter will be 2 rack spaces and maybe 20-40 pounds, lighter than your cabinet. :)

Get rid of the Boss pedal station!! That might be the cause of your troubles. Try it without for one practice, and see how that goes. For the kind of music you are playing, the most you want is a little dirt... NOT the same as distortion.

Try it clean and see how it goes.

Hey can about help here? I getting ready to buy a 3800 Watt
Amp yep that's right a 3800 watt bass amp. now does anyone
know of a good Bass cab that can handle something like this without say going over $ 6 to $7 hundred dollars and is a straight
2 or 4 ohm cab. Can anyone help on this Thanks

If you're paying extra for 3800w, don't. In the US line voltage means you're really not going to see more than about 2400w without extra consideration. Even my IPR 3000 only hit 3K for a microsecond burst before the breakers shut the power down.

I was beside myself with my LMIII for quite some time and almost sold it. Then I read somewhere about the "magic Trick." I skimmed through here and didn't see it mentioned so try this:

Turn yr Master volume all the way down and play while turning the Gain knob up till it lights up/peaks. Roll back slightly and bring up master volume to taste.

This changed my entire sound and felling about MarkBass products.

same thing but quoted from MB website:

"Here's what we suggest: set your bass volume on full, and start with the gain and master controls off. Play your bass at your hardest level, and turn up the gain until the blue clip light starts illuminating. Now back off your gain level so that it's at its highest level without clipping. You've found your optimal gain level. Now use the master control to set your desired output volume."

You might as well have added in "and weights 5 pounds and is no larger than small toaster". :-p
