Way Huge Fail

After hearing good things about the Way Huge pedals, I decided to head to my local shops to give a few a try and more than likely, take one home.

Uh, yeah..

Not even the shop that lists Way Huge as one of it's lines had more than one pedal. After going to the three biggest shops in Kingston I found a Pork Loin and an Aqua Bass, but not the Swollen Pickle I was hoping to take for a spin.

Considering the pedal is going to cost me $215 plus tax, I'd like to at least hear it a bit before I make a real commitment.

Anyone got some samples I can hear? I know it won't be the same sound from my bass, but at least I'll have something to go by.

Thanks!

+1000000 To the Way Huge Swollen Pickle! You have to open her up and really dial her in for the scoop and clip but once you find that sweet spot....this is my Fav fuzz alongside my Fender Sub-Lime Bass Fuzz. I own 7 fuzzes and if it came down to it these would be the 2 permanent ones

Say what?

I know you are in Canada, but this seems pricey.

That was the price I was quoted from the 'dealer' in town. FAIL.

HOWEVER:

This morning I got a call from one of the other shops I visited who had never heard of Way Huge (dude got a chuckle when I asked him if he had a Way Huge Swollen Pickle - I deliberately looked at him stone faced to see what he'd do). They took my info and I figured I'd be ignored.

wrongo, sport.

They said they could get it in for me for $115. Musician's friend lists at $119.

Way Huge WIN!

Never pulled the trigger on the swollen pickle in the end, but I must say I'm rethinking my options, there's nothing bad to say about it!
On the other hand, getting it in croatia would mean paying about $220, and ordering with shipping and taxes makes it only about $25 cheaper...
I guess I have to find another illegal way to get some gear in...:D

Guess I was lucky. I got it used for $135 in Croatia, local classifieds. I'd suggest ordering a used one from uk ebay, having it shipped to Slovenian post office (Lendava) and picking it up to avoid customs. I've done this many times but then again, I'm up in the north and close by.
