Double Bass "Weapon of Choice":EA, Glock, Mark... cabs

Hey.

I`ve read a few threads about cabs, so I`ve revealed, that the most suitable cabs for DB (on average) are EA NL-210 and Wizzy.

But according to the place I live, I can purchase something from Europe only.

So I would be glad to hear your opinions about Glockenklang and Markbass cabs together with my NS CR-4T EUB...

...or a link to a retailer of EA in Europe, who ships to Russia.))

Tom Bowlus (bass gear mega poster) said some very good things about one of the Glockenklang cabs. Perhaps he'll post here or you can search his blog for his review.

We played a Glock single 12" cabinet in the "Belchfest" and it was formidable.

I'm not sure what the name was but that was an excellent cabinet. I'd use it without hesitation.

Just got home from my gig. I use a Markbass LMII into a Bergantino 1-12". I'm happy with the Markbass. Guess you can't get Bergantino there, but you have some other great options.

i played thorugh a markbass combo, i believe it was essentially the little mark II head built into a 1x12 plus tweeter cabinet at 8ohms, and it sounded great. i didnt play upright through it but i did use a couple different fretless basses strun with flatwounds and it handled them very well, im sure it would translate quite well as an upright combo, not to mention its amazingly easy portability.

I`ve found one Bob G. on the members list, but there is no contact info in his profile.

Bergantino has no dealers in Europe at all.

I`ve read Tom Bowlus blog. His opinion about EA NL-210 as well as Glock Duo is very complimentary.

I think I`ll dig into Glock, unless somebody gives me Bob G`s contact...))

Bob says that US Post has recently changed its max size box and can only ship the wizzy 10 at a reasonable rate - the others are now too big. 2 wizzy 10s sound great, though, according to the extensive wizzy 10 threads.

I have done loads of 'shootouts' and other various comparisons, and I am consistently impressed with cabs from EA, Bergantino, and Glockenklang (and several other brands, but those three always seem to come out on top, at least for my own preferences). That Glockenklang Space Deluxe (the 1x12 with a tweeter) is one heck of a good cab, and it seems to do everything well.

I´ve got a Glock Double (2x12 and a tweetie) and it works for me very well, better that any other cab I tried. I´ve got the same problem with overseas shipping, now USPS don´t send big boxes, so you´ve got to use our european stuff. I´ve got an iAmp from Bob G. really cheap but for the cab i think will be better for you to pick up a Glock or a Markbass than messing with stupidly expensive shipping charges. Also, i don´t know the exchange rate in Russia for dollars, now with the euro its a great moment to buy dollars but don´t know you´r situation over there...
