Web 2.0 Suicid machine

Has anyone used this or just deleted all their social network profiles. I'm thinking about offing myself....someone talk me out of it!

In all honesty facebook has not improved my life at all. The only thing I like about it is the ability to share pictures but on the other hand people have posted pics of me without my consent and thats kinda scary.

It also kinda ruins the whole dating thing nowadays. Usually if I meet a girl sooner or later she wants to be facebook friends. So I say fine, thats cool and check out her profile and great now I know all kinds of things about her that I would rather learn from normal conversation. Dating in the early 2000's is weird.

Now everyone from my mom to my grandma wants to be friends on there and I don't want them know whats up with me all the time. Final point of complaint is half the status I read irk me in someway or another.

So whos coming with me? Suicide pact anyone?

I deleted my FB account I about 2 months ago. Why? I got back from the mountains, hadn't seen a computer in 4 weeks and when I logged in on FB I was baffled by the complete and utter waste of time it really is. When I'm browsing TB, or any other message board, at least I'm picking up something, be it a bassplayer I didn't know, how to glue a neck, whatever. With FB, not so.

Face it, you're wasting your time.

Since deleting it, I haven't missed it. The only thing I liked about FB was the possibilty to share my music or photographs with others. But that doesn't weigh up against the waste of time it really is, not to mention the privacy issues, etc.

Anyway, just delete your account, wait for 2 weeks and you're done.

Do it!

You wont regret it!

I just joined FaceBook the other day, because I've found it a necessary evil to stay in touch with some people and follow musicians.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded at how the newsfeed just piles up with the most random and mundane activities that people are doing.

Who sits there and reads this crap?

I do like being able to chat with many people and view pictures that are usually blocked because I'm not a member, but that's as far as it goes for me.

You won't have trouble staying in touch with the people that really matter to you.

As for all these folks from high school...meh

Yeah I agree. I have a lot of highschool friends on there I havent talked to in years. Too bad the suicide machine is busy im gonna have to do it manually.

Oh crap someone commented on my status and sent me an instant message....no joke.

I deleted my original facebook and made another under a false name. That way I'm not inundated with friend requests from people I don't want to talk to, the only way people find me is if I send a request to them.

I don't really use it much, but it is great for organizing events.

I don't really go on mine, but I just figure it's a necessary evil for now for me. I am busy for most of the day and I don't really have time to call all my friends to see what they are up to, so it's nice to just jump on, see what my friends are up to, and then get off. Facebook is as in-depth as you want it to be imo, just like myspace and twitter.

It's also nice to have an account because everyone else has one, and I will post gigs of mine in case some friends or acquaintances have nothing to do and they are in town. It's a great marketing tool (which is also why a lot of people hate it haha!)

Why delete it? Why not just stop using it regularly and log on only when you need to? Forgot the homework for class? Hit a friend with a quick chat message and there it is. Sure you could call or text but people (at least my friends want to make conversation out of it. FB quickie's are how things are done :)
