Wedgie vs Clayton Phat-Tone

Trying to get more into pick playing, as both my Sterling and Precision are responding well to that manner of playing. I was a guitar player from 2011-2015 so I have some picks left still but I don’t fancy the regular plastic kind.

Any reviews on these 2 brands? I’m looking for more of finger-like tones and durability and long-term usage. I figured rubber (or a rubber-like material) will wear faster than plastic? Also, weird question but do they smell?

I've tried a Wedgie before. Hated it. Didn't smell, but it always got stuck on the strings and was very much like trying to use a pencil eraser as a pick.

Clayton makes my favorite picks, though those don't happen to be the phat tones.

I don't really get why you would want your pick playing to sound like if you were playing with your fingers, kind of missing the whole point of playing with a pick as far as I am concerned.

Then again I do love that specific snappy emphasis on the attack you get with a regular pick, just don't understand why you wouldn't just stick to using your fingers if that is the actual tone you are going for.

Seems kind of pointless to me.

I mean these types of picks kind of makes sense to me from the perspective of a pick player who wants to make it sound like he is actually playing with his fingers but can't be bothered to learn the proper technique required to do so otherwise, but the other way around, I just don't get it...

But just because it doesn't make sense to me of course you are still free to do as you please, though if possible please do enlighten me, cause I genuinely don't understand?

I don't play hardly at all with a pick, but when I do, it's a Clayton. Been using them for years.
