Weird G string overtone

    Above about the 15th fret, the G string kinda sounds like 2 g strings played simultaneously. Not overtones really but the same tone twice. I changed the string and it's still there.

    Thoughts?

    This was the solution for me in that instance. Let us know if it changes anything

    Fixed it! I went over board with the neck shim. Took out one piece and no more overtone. I guess the neck wasn't coming into strong enough contact with the pocket.

    I'm sorry. Any more random expletives from me and my neighbors would've started banging on the wall. It's for the best.
