Double Bass Weird Rattle

So I'm borrowing an upright bass from my school for the summer and lately there has been a rattle when I play the open E and D string. It kind of sounds like a 'wah' and it sustains a long as the note holds. The sound appears to be coming near the top of the bass above the f holes. Ive checked for string issues, nut issues and tail piece issues. Any help is desperately needed

Could be the sound post, end pin, something in the bass, or something else like a crack or seam, or something not listed here. Best bet is to get it checked out by someone, does your school use a repair service? Usually it is covered under their instrument budget.

Yes they do have instrument repair, ill check for any cracks before I see what they can do.
