Nice. In the pics your bass looks white - not the yellowish white that so many tuxedos seem to change to. Some people like the discoloration but not me...............I like the sharp white.

rickenbacker actually had a model called the tuxedo--this is not one of them,as it had a painted,dot type fretboard,and was very limited edition. i always thought this model looked great--pete farndon of the pretenders had one,too. very nice bass,and a great deal! also,glad you're putting the pickup cover back on-not only does it look better,but you will find its a great handrest for when your picking or plucking between the pickups.
Sounded GREAT with the band last night. (First time I plugged it in!) I just kept my amp on flat and the bass hauled it all. I absolutely love the tone from the neck. It gets almost boomy but stays round and full. I just kept both full-on for what I did though and WOW. It may be converting me from my P-Basses.

I am being facetious. I have no problems with GC. It's just with all the rip on GC threads, I had to pile on.
There is. That PU looks a lot more worn too. The black on top has worn through to a green plastic. Still sounds sweet though!

Hard to believe GC would sell any custom color Ric that cheap, even if it has an replaced bridge pickup.
A couple years ago I bought a white one that was supposedly "a 75" from GC, it was priced at 2k, and I had to grind them down to 1500. Turned out it was a 1980, but with that and another reason I took it back.
But just this past Nov/Dec, I saw a '99 maplego in nice shape in another local GC priced at 999! So some deals seem to be out there.

same here.i always get the best service from my local GC.
the salespeople are always real nice,they have the best selection,etc.then i take a trip to all of the smaller guitar stores,and everyone is crabby,and tells you to not break anything as if your a 6 year old on a discovering binge.
