Simply,
I used to play bass(age 15-17) just fell out of it due to lack of interest and general life always changing when you're young.
I always picked it up and messed around though. I applied for bands during that time but nothing ever came of them since i felt the other members lacked interest in the concept of the band.
I am not looking to get into a band now(age 23, 24 soon) not only because I just would rather focus on other things in life but I just don't think I'd be able to put the time into it, if an opportunity to though came up it would be considered.
I had an old Washburn 4 string and a 70W Gorilla amp(still have). The head has a crack(no idea how, i never dropped it) and it's playable but i just want to get back into it and figured i should get something decent.
I do like a lot of heavier stuff(i've seen the threads about metal bass and stuff, don't worry...i won't do that to you guys.)
My main concern will be strings(as in type/gauge) and possibly a 5-string over 4. I drop tune(C usually) about 80% of the time.
SO...with that said any advice would be great. Been looking at these...
ESP LTD B55 5 String
ESP LTD B50 4 string
Ibanez Soundgear GSR200
Price range of course is fairly low, like i said, just want a decent new bass to enjoy and if i get bite hard again I'll invest further.
I do need to get to a GC or other to feel a few. I now i want the low action and good fast neck as I'm sure most do. One thing i always had was fret buzz and even now i do more than i should.
So thanks for help and I am sure from what I've seen I'll be here for awhile!
