As of 10am this morning, I'm officially on Terminal Leave. 24 years ago today, coincidentally, I enlisted into the Army.

24 years, two armed services, 4 continents, 42 states, thousands of gigs, more friends than I can count, more beers than I can remember. Some of the best musicians I've ever met, and some of the strangest and most unique gigging situations you could imagine. It all adds up to the most rewarding careers I could ever want.

I count myself lucky. I can now pursue other goals (music, photography) with the luxury of a guaranteed income. Life's good.

So I say thank you, American Taxpayer, for 24 great years!

24 years. What does that get you now? About 50%?
24 years ago was when I enlisted in the Navy. Only did 9 years tho. I would be retired by now too. Oh well.
Well congrats, putting up with the military for that long deserves a big <remember the HeeHaw tv show?> SALUTE!

Edit: I forgot to tell you my Master Chief was in the Navy for 46 years. Pac you are a LIGHTWEIGHT!!!!!

I vividly remember a picture from years ago of you, dressed in uniform, hugging your young daughter after returning from a deployment. That image always impressed me as reminder of how much impact military service has on the family back home. Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and years of service to our country.
