Some players love the VTC, some dont. I never use it. Its always on 10. I never used it on Old Fenders, either. I just set my amp kinda flat w little eq. I keep the treble flat on the bass and boost the bass to suit my taste and warm up the stage. Thats it. Pretty much plug and play. Ive found many players tend to have their amps all eq'd out because they have them set for their other basses. Real bright this way which makes u want a vtc. Its important to know most amps sound fine with these basses kinda set at 12o'clock or flat. Try that before u invest in a VTC.

I`ve owned this bass for several months and it`s a great instrument. Very light and resonant (I guess 7.7 pounds aprox), even tone, plenty of attack and articulation.

It`s a bright sounding bass (a bit obvious with maple/ash) so I`ve found the VTC is useful to tame some over the top highs.
You`ll be very with it, believe me.

I remember 10 years ago, I had an email discussion with the man himself, he said that a carefully chosen piece of maple would only benefit marginally from graphite reinforcements. He also said that a piece of bad wood will always be bad no matter how much and what you use to reinforce it, I tend to agree, the neck on a Sadowsky is much stiffer than my Fender with the graphite rods
