When you come over, where would you be staying? Canberra / ACT is a great place for riding, most trails are just a ride from the city. Victoria has some great riding too. IF you ride a roadie, I presume your more into XC / Enduro / Trail riding rather than DH, FR type thing?

Yep. Fire road and single track. Lot's of climbing and both tires on the ground! The whole DH and FR thing is cool, but I'll leave that to the youngin' The bike is the only way I can stand to get exercise and it's the only thing I know that rivals skiing for the adrenal response. (OK there is great whitewater in my neighborhood but enough people die doing that stuff that I'm kind of not interested ...)

Next time I'm heade down under I'll pop you a note and pump you for some tips! Cheer's

We have some great riding down here, YouYangs State forest is pretty awesome, laods of knarly single track that will keep you on your toes... I actually badly damaged my wrist there on the Cove's first outing

Anikie / Anikie Gorge- All firetrail, but some of the fastest, wildest, and steepest climbing firtrail I know of... This makes the natorious Kowen forest / Mont 24hr climb in Canberra look easy. Very foresty, watchout for Roo's, and them fast desending switchbacks...

Balan, Pretty much standard XC / Enduro material, but there is some crazier stuff for those that feel a little insane, a very beautiful place- calm and quiet.



I bet the Columbia River Gorge has some good riding too, it looks awesome in a desolate terain sort of sence.



And... To keep the thread alive for a fellow bassist in Australia.

Definatly check out Bass Central, even if it's just a queiry. Perry has been so good to me, answering all my questions- and going out of his way to help ensure I get what I want. You'll be supprised how little it costs to ship, cabinets and the like, in comparison to basses big saving to be had.
