Went Shooting Today

Today I went shooting with the father. It was the first time i've shot a heavy load (insert joke here) as opposed to regular clay shells, and holy crap did my shoulder take a beating. I ended up beating my dad in sporting clays though. It was my 4th time doing the sporting clays and I hit 29 out of 50. My dad hit 23. Two of the stations I just totally crapped out. I should've been able to at least hit 4 more.

And BTW, I shoot a 12 gauge Remington 1187 and my dad shoots a Benelli M3.

Sounds fun, I was supposed to go shooting this weekend but our trip got canceled...

How are the Remington 1187s? I'm really only familiar with the 1100's, as I had to work with them. I'm looking to buy a boomstick soon and I'm looking around...I've heard the Bonelli's are really nice, if I'm not mistaken.

it's true. Although the deer wouldn't eat it anyway because you bury the corn and let the hogs root at it. The diesel is for attracting the hogs, not keeping the deer away. Although powdered jello mix works just as well.

When I stop growing i'm all over that. They're rather expensive though, but well worth it it seems.

I couldn't tell you in relation. I'm no gun nut in the sense that I could tell you every minute thing about each, but I just gotta say that I love mine. Has never jammed, and is almost as smooth and comfortable as my dad's Benelli.

If shooting clay things is barbaric to you, then you need a reality check.

Ah... I think I heard that you throw it in amongst a brush pile to get them rooting in there... I think the advantage is that you get to get rid of the brush pile in the process.

I don't have the mixed blessing/curse of having wild hogs around here. I know that those states that have them want them eradicated and that the bad far outweighs the good since they cause a lot of damage, but I'd never be hurting for fresh pork if we had them running around.
