Were Kubicki Ex-Factor Copies ever made?

Once in a while, i spotted a Factor like bass, and it had name "blaster" or "bluster" printed on the body, same fonts as the Kubicki's, and i believe it is the copy. I did emailed to Mr. Kubicki for proof and the answer is they dont have any other licensed Factor bass maunfacturer except Fender. But that Japan copy look pretty decent!

Whoa! I did a search and found out tat Kubicki was trying to ecport these in 85 but he abandoned the project as his protype was stolen. That freaks me out.

Can you point me to pics of one of these copies?

So it looks like the bass I had listed was a Japanese Kubicki Ex-Factor copy called a "Fixer". Amazing!

I wish I knew who made this. The guy that bought mine did some research and found that the bridge was identical to the Washburn Bantam's and the pots had the same serial numbers except for the last letter.

It is actually a geat bass. Plays better than the real deal in some ways. The action adjustment is more conventional, and the scale is full length (34"). You'll be more than amused.

Agreed, i've mucked around on the fixer at bass centre (unplugged) and it was actually pretty cool, and being fretless it had something extra to offer... very cool slides and mwah.

According to pickups (K&M), stringholders, bridge and knobs in my opinion this is a Fixer without logo (the other logo that also appeared on these models was "Bass Collection"). It is a cheaper copy of the ExFactor made in Japan in the last 80's probably by Headway/Deviser, the same Factory that made Riverhead basses in the same years
