Are you sure it iused to be a gibson grabber or otherwise? I really cant see anything about it that makes me think gibson other then the neck plate. Lol.

Cosmetic wear???? That's not a cosmetic alteration it's combination face lift and frontal lobotomy. The latter of which anyone who'd pay $299 plus shipping should consider.
I expected to see a mutilated G-3 instead of a....."Grabber." If that was the case, I would've cried my eyes out...

The only thing it had going for it was the sliding pickup. A real abominator would have installed a small electric motor and a link to keep the pickup moving back and forth and added a whammy-bar-like pot to vary the speed of the motor, plus he would have gone nuts with a router to install a few dozen 9v battery boxes to power the motor. No creativity here.
The head stock is all wrong too. Grabbers were 2+2 afaik. It wouldn't surprise me if the only Gibson part was the neck plate.
It looks like someone cut it up for a player who was wheelchair bound. A local newspaper near me did a story about a bass builder who made something like that for a friend who became paralyzed below the waist and consequently had trouble playing while sitting in his chair.
