Hey, Im looking at getting a set of westone um3x-rc IEMs. I've been checking online and have found they seem to have great reviews but I also have read that if you sweat at all it can kill the IEM. Has anyone experianced this I don't want to drop a bunch of money on headphones and have then die after a month.

I've been using the UM3x for several months now. LOVE them. I sweat like a pig and no problems. I highly recommend the Comply foam tips though. Much better fit, isolation, and bass response. Be sure to get the model with the removable cable.
I thought I would eventually replace them with custom molds, but they are so awesome I really don't see the need.....

It's exactly the same wire used on high end customs. When I use the long Comply foams, they insert deep into the ear and expand, so they stay put solidly.
The wire isn't what holds them in place, it's the tip inserted somewhat deeply into your ear that holds it in place. The wire just guides the cable over your ears and keeps it close to your head.
Thanks for the replies. I am leaning toward the UM3x-rc's. However I have a unique issue. I have had a bilateral myrengotomy, which is a fancy word for tubes in my ears. Like a child often needs. I have to be careful about how far I insert something. Standard earbuds are ok as long as I don't really insert as far as possible, but what I really need is a solution for keeping them in - other than duct tape
