By strange coincidence, I was searching the forum for more info on "custom" made basses, because I've just recently tried out THIS EXACT BASS.
My general feelings on reliced/distressed finish guitars is negative -- I would never seek one out specifically. This one is pretty darned attractive though. I haven't held enough P-basses to compare, but it was very comfortable to play and sounded great through the Ampeg BA combo they had (115 or 210 v2). They obviously put loads of time and expense into the finish and selection of parts for period-accuracy. I appreciate the transparency of them calling it a "tribute" model. They described the neck and body as "custom hand made" which is kinda vague, but I had no reason to press for details because this one's out of my hobbyist budget anyways. There was nothing said to set off the BS Detector.
I am not qualified to answer technical questions that a prospective buyer would want to know about the instrument. I can say that the owner and staff of this shop are all friendly dudes who know their stuff, and have treated me well as a new customer over the last couple years.
