Looks like Reverb pricing to me....
I worked at mine from ‘04-‘14. While I got to experience an ever (d)evolving company during my time, they’re drastically different now.
I've also seen a GC used ad like this a couple of times now that shows a pic of a $2.5k guitar amp head with one of their giant hang-tags in the frame showing a price of something like $400+, but if you click the add or zoom in you see that the price tag is for the small cab the guitar head is sitting on.
If there was ever a paying job that finds skewed price listings and even more so wrong listings with the picture vs. the info on GC website, I'd be their best employee ever lol. I've seen too many to even want to browse anything they have to sell these days unfortunately.
Is surprising because they’ve priced the used amp $50 higher than a brand new one (which GC also sells).
I noticed the other day that my local GC is trying to sell a used G&L *Tribute* Fallout (which had a new MSRP of what, $650 USD?) for $1100.

They constantly and consistently lower employee commissions while making meeting quotas more and more difficult. Ultimately, the pool of prospective workers has fewer musicians in it. The employees largely don’t give a crap because the pay is horrible. I worked there for a year recently, and was flabbergasted. I was routinely a top producer, and my paychecks were a joke.
Quality control isn’t going to be a priority, particularly on used instrument / gear research.
It’s a bummer. They put mom and pop stores out of business, but instead of making their model a viable one for their employees, they just screw them too.
I appreciate the prices they can charge when they are the only entity buying strings by the container-load. I despise what they have helped to do to the musical instrument consumer instrument A/V market.

^^^^^ This is key. Now, we are left with nothing for brick-and-mortar options.
And the small local stores can’t carry the big brands (Fender, Gibson, etc.) because Guitar Center has exclusive rights for the area. So even if you want to support the small guy, he doesn’t sell what you want.

Why don’t you just make them a lower offer? Or say “[your competitor] sells this for about a hundred bucks less”. I might give you a better price
