Whammy IV tracking

Will a Whammy IV track an open low D (i.e. an E string dropped to D)? I want to use it to get an octave above the original signal, mainly.

You may be better off with a Micro POG. I have and love a Whammy 4, but I love it for its quirky glitches and stuff not its rock solid tracking.

This might be a stupid suggestion, but why don't you get an octave down pedal an play everything an octave up?
