What’s next for you?

I have played and still do play many ‘styles’ of music as a bassist/vocalist.
It’s been an interestingly compartmentalized journey moving from one project to another through the years from all original to covers, back to original with record industry intent and now ultimately playing with several semi-local outfits including a high profile church worship team.
There’s been rock, soul, r&b, country, folk, standards, light jazz and more.

But the one frontier that has remained elusive and also alluring is reggae:


This stuff calls to me like a siren in the fog and I know one day I’ll bump into her.

What music holds that allure from afar for you?

I have long harbored a secret fantasy of playing guitar in a duo with a female singer covering nothing but the Burt Bacharach/Hal David pop songs of the 1960s:
- The Look of Love
- I'll Never Fall In Love Again
- Walk On By
- This Guy's In Love With You
- Anyone Who Had A Heart
- One Less Bell To Answer
- I Say A Little Prayer
etc.

Not so much because I love those songs, but because A) I appreciate them from a craft perspective, and more importantly B) I think we could make a killing. Or at least get booked into a whole lot more venues than my abstract noise-jazz band can.
