Double Bass What’s on your stand?

I wish!!! I'm 3 weeks past major surgery. I went in expecting a stent or two for blocked arteries and woke up to find I"d had an emergency triple bypass. I can't lift more than 2 1/1 + 2 1/2 = 5 Kg for another 3 weeks at least or drive for another week. The only warning I had was shortness of breath and minor discomfort after walking 150 meters. My next gig is going to be Handel's Messiah at the end of November. In the meantime there is teaching and examining to relieve the boredom.

David, I'm glad to hear that, despite the unexpected seriousness of the procedure, a potential catastrophe was avoided. I hope you get back to good health and playing shape soon.

EDIT: Whoops, somehow I forgot Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition (obviously I haven't been shedding that one like the other two ;)). Also, a few short pieces we have planned.

We also have an original composition The North Shore, by one of our members.
We will debut and record it live, with him conducting, at a special Vancouver Symphony 100 year celebration.

First position violin music- working on thumb and reading cello treble down the octave. Also a bunch of tenor clef cello music.
I’m working to get ready for another chamber play-in reading session - quintets and sextets playing bass on the second cello part.
Ravel’s Tombeau de Couperin for a concert- reworking the harmonics in fifths tuning.
Haydn 103, Storch, Slama, and Vance.
