What 4x10 cab can produce some rerious lows

I've owned mine for 2 years, and it handles the B string on my Roscoe beautifully.

I had 2 Acme low B2's prior to that cab... The low end was amazing on them, but they were VERY power hungry. I clipped many a amp trying to compete with 2 mesa half stacks...

For you folks with the Acme B2 cabs. What kind of ampage you using? I understand they have serious lows and are small but at the same time are inefficeint. Do you really have to hit them with a lot of juice?

+1 for the Acme's. I've got a pair of Low B2's (8 ohms each) that I love. Much more portable that a 410... I'm old. IIRC, Acme's website recommends 350 watts for a starting point for a Low B2. I'm using an SWR Bass 750 (chrome face with fan) to power my pair. I've had nothing but compliments on my sound (small - medium venues with no FOH support) from musicians (including drummers ) and patrons. I want to try my MarkBass 102P combo head (an LMII) to see if it will do the deed with either one or both cabs. That's if it's easily removable. Haven't looked yet.

you may have to turn 'em up a wee bit more than possibly you may be used to. The B2 is rated at 350W RMS and that's what I give them one per channel from a Carvin DCM1000. I've never ever turned my system up fully and I've never needed more volume.

The first B2 I bought was surprisingly loud with a 100W Yamaha BIII.

I normally push my 4 ohm B-2 with a 700 watt head. There have been a few instances, in really loud environments, where I've run into distortion by the time I got it up enough to hear myself. But, then again, it's only a 2x10. What can I expect?

...I had try different cabs and most of them can't handle the B string. I try the Epifani both 212 & 410 and it sounded great but for a 4 stringer because when I play my 5 tringer the low end suck...

This is quite different from my experience. All three of my Epifani cabs are terrific with my low B 5-strings, both of which are 35" scale.

What basses/head(s) are you using?

I know the OP asked about 410 cabs, but what about the fEarful 15/6 (with or without a 15sub)? Greenboy designed them to handle the F# below low B. Seems to me they would have some serious low end. And less bulk/weight than a 410.

continue to get great feedbacks, However I just got back form Guitar center and I tested the Ampeg SVT410 and after all the good feed backs I was very disapointed, when I turn up the volume to about 4 on my amp the speakers sounded like they were ready to get blown. this cab has just good mids but can't handle the low freq of the B strings. I will check other ones tomorrow.

Another vote for the EDEN D410XST (or 2 X D210XST if you're looking for portability)

Real life 32Hz lowend and great power handling.

Somebody mentioned that the Legend BP102 will rattle your cage.
I made my own cabs & have never heard as much bottom as this. But this was after mods.

Out of curiousity, was it the HLF or HE cab??? The reason I ask is, I owned the HLF version for awhile, and I just don't see the above described happening with one of those... As a point of reference, I've also owned Mesa's PH610 for a couple of years now, and it's fairly crushing in the low end department...

Didn't pick up everything. T-h-i-s is suppose to be this: Ampeg SVT-410HLF. Great low end.

Also these things are dirt cheap on the CLs so I don't know why people say they're over priced. $400 will find you a real nice one and at $100/speaker that's pretty good compared to the boutique stuff.

If you want ridiculous lows, the Acme is #1 and the SVT-410HLF is #8, and nothing else places.

Better yet, go fEarful. When someone asks for huge lows, well, there is no more economical and back friendly solution even if you have to pay to have it built.
